Why join?​​

What does ‘joining’ mean?

Joining the Gather network simply means signing up online. This is done either by providing an email address or logging in via your social media account (nope, we don't have access to info other than your email address and profile picture and we certainly don't have the ability post on your behalf). Once you have a login, you have full access to the Members' zone, allowing you to see and sign up to all our upcoming events, and partake in the forum.

Why do you need my email address and what do you do with it?

The safety of our online community is hugely important to us, we therefore ask that you are honest with who you are and respectful in your forum behaviour by providing a personalised login. We also use your provided email address  to keep you up to date via our monthly newsletter or about any updates to an event you've signed up to. That's it. We don't share your contact details with anybody else and that's a promise. If you have any concerns or want to report any forum behaviour that concerns you, please be in touch via our contact page.

Does it cost to join?

No. At the moment, Gather membership is one hundred percent free.

Some events are ticketed to cover costs.

Will events cost me?

Some. We aim to keep Gather events as accessible as possible:

  • Gather Brunch is a pay-your-own-bill affair (just come for a coffee, if it's a bit close to pay day)

  • Gather Inspiration evenings are free to attend, we recommend you purchase a drink (or two) at the bar to support our host venue

  • Gather Experience tickets are priced to cover any base costs incurred by the host, usually circa £15-20pp

More on all of the event formats over here. We do not make profits on our events, ticket prices are only used to cover base costs.

Who is welcome?

We welcome anyone who identifies as a woman, of all orientations, backgrounds and cultural identities. If you have any queries as to whether our community will be suitable for you, please get in touch, we'd love to chat with you.

Who attends?

Any London based or London visiting woman who is keen to connect with like minded people, curious to try something new or looking to be inspired. We often meet in groups or events sized 15-30 people. That way it's not overwhelming, you can get to know the group well and everybody has an opportunity to chat with the host.

What age is the group?

We are as diverse in age as we are in origin and interests. Currently the group has members from in their 20s to in their 60s. Our community comes from all corners of the world - representing all continents except Antarctica!

How often do you meet?

At least once a month. We host brunch and drinks once a month, a Gather Experience each month and several Gather Inspiration evenings a year. More on the Gather formats over here.

How did Gather start?

We began as a group of friends, all new to London. Starting as a modest brunch club, we grew into a much larger sized community and formalising as 'Gather' in 2017.

How can I get involved?

Join us at an event! We would love to have you. If you're looking to get more deeply involved by applying to host an event, please drop us a line with a bit of an introduction to you and your empire. We recommend you have a read of the Gather formats page and partake in a Gather Experience yourself, prior to applying to co-host an event. This way you can get a feel for the group and the way we run things. 

Are you industry specific?

Not at all. The beauty and the basis of our group being so inspiring and welcoming is that we come from all sectors, from all over the world.
