Gather Experience - Architecture Walk

On the basis of this walk, penned here, we‘re off to explore the City of London by foot.

London is a rich melting pot of culture and history that is so fantastically represented in its architecture and public realm. Roman ruins dating 100-200AD sit adjacent to Brutalist companions while high-tech towers soar above medieval trading squares.

Join us for a leisurely 2ish hour wander (a coffee and loo stop or two along the way). We’ll start in Bank and explore from the ground up starting with Roman ruins, make our way to the business heart of old Roman london via medieval and mid-century companions and public art interventions, ending on the 15th floor to explore the high rise architecture that has made London’s skyline infamous.

Bring your reusable coffee cup and check the weather for raincoat/umbrella - we’ll go ahead even if drizzly.

Meet: 12 Wallbrook Street, EC4N 8AA (exit 8, Bank Station) outside London Mithraeum.

Time: 11am start, sharp. Please arrive a little before.

Note, I’ll be grabbing myself a take away coffee from Caravan (adjacent to meeting point) at 10:30, feel welcome To do similar.

WCs: I’ll make sure we have loo break opportunities at the beginning, mid and end of tour. There are also quite a few public facilities en route, if needed.

Accessibility: most if not all of what I have tested so far has step-free access but if this is a requirement for you do please get in touch, as I’d be happy to fully check our routes and stops in advance to ensure this and discuss with you.

Cost: the tour itself and all stops are free of charge. You may wish to bring some pocket money for snacks/refreshments along the way.

Some public WC facilities charge, for this you’ll need small change.

We will end nearby the Sky Garden (at the Walkie Talkie), should you wish to build this into your own itinerary. This venue does charge and I strongly recommend booking in advance.
